Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

My name is Michelle and I have been a Correctional Officer for 15 years.  My 9 year old son and I are fundraising to help athletes compete in sports because both of us play several sports and we believe many life skills and social skills are built when you compete on a team or in an individual event.  We chose to bike 5km because we both enjoy going for bike rides together and it’s a great way to bond and encourage each other to help others in need of financial support so they can play the sports that they love.  I was inspired to join the Law Enforcement Guardian’s Run for Special Olympics by my friend, retired OPP officer Brenda Nesbitt, who is a great role model and a far superior athlete to me!

Together, we are raising money to help Special Olympics athletes across Ontario return to sports! Join us and help Draft an Athlete!

You can also register for this year’s VIRTUAL OPP Guardians Half Marathon & 5K! Registration is $25 and includes a FREE dry-fit t-shirt.  Run/Walk/Bike any distance before October 25th to participate.  Challenge yourself!  Log your effort on a tracking app like Strava or Map My Run and post your time on social media using #GuardiansRun and tag Torch Run Ontario to engage with fellow runners and Special Olympics athletes!
